Rabbi Moshe Pinchas Weisblum, PhD
Born in Sde Ya’akov, Israel, Rabbi Moshe Pinchas Weisblum, PhD, is a 14th-generation rabbinic leader, continuing a distinguished lineage that includes his great-grandfather, Rabbi Elimelech Weisblum of Lizhensk, one of the leading luminaries of the worldwide Chassidic movement.
Rabbi Weisblum received rabbinic ordination from the Chief Rabbinate of Israel and pursued advanced studies at Yeshivat Torat Emet in Haifa, Yeshivat Itri, and Yeshivat Ohr Etzion. He holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a PhD in Jewish Philosophy from Baltimore Hebrew University, where he was awarded the prestigious Sidney Breitbart Prize in Jewish Philosophy.
With over 29 years of rabbinic leadership, Rabbi Weisblum has served congregations across the United States and, since 2016, has led Congregation Beth Tikvah. His work combines traditional scholarship with contemporary engagement, guiding a diverse and evolving community through teaching, pastoral care, and public discourse.
He is a professor of Philosophy and Humanities at Washington University of Science and Technology, where he has received multiple awards for teaching excellence. He also serves as a hospital chaplain at Nassau University Medical Center, offering compassionate spiritual care to patients and families during critical moments of life.
Rabbi Weisblum is the author of eleven books on Jewish thought, ethics, poetry, and biblical interpretation, including Table Talk: Biblical Questions and Answers and Ruth Talk. His writings appear in 17 newspapers across the United States and Canada, reflecting a sustained ability to bring Jewish ideas into contemporary public conversation.
A frequent speaker and media contributor, he has served as a consultant on Middle Eastern affairs and has appeared on numerous television programs addressing social, ethical, and political issues. He has been invited on multiple occasions to address the New York State Senate, where he delivered original reflections on service, ethics, and public responsibility.
In addition to his scholarly work, Rabbi Weisblum is an accomplished musician and composer, with over 300 compositions across liturgical, educational, and cross-cultural genres. He has produced 13 musical albums presenting his lyrics translated and performed in multiple languages, including Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean (K-pop), and Cantonese, reflecting a distinctive cross-cultural musical vision. As Musical Director at Congregation Beth Tikvah, he integrates music into spiritual life while also leading international creative initiatives. His educational and musical content has reached a broad international audience, with over 16 million views across digital platforms. He has also been recognized with the YouTube Creator Award upon reaching 100,000 subscribers.
Rabbi Weisblum is a member of the New York and New Jersey Board of Rabbis, the Union of Traditional Judaism, the Morasha Rabbinic Fellowship, and other academic and rabbinic organizations.
He is blessed with five married children and twenty-five grandchildren.
